  i do loss prevention in australia and they dont actually commit an offence untill they leave the store here but it is fun. i had a guy run away from me once and he turned to look at me the auto doors didnt open fast enough he hit them so hard he broke both his clavical bones and landed on his head.

  Depends on the state. For example in Arizona you can apprehend once concealment is observed but you can’t in states like California. Most company policies are to apprehend the lifters outside the door though.

  why won’t people learn that target has the strongest security out there. chances of making it out are slim. and you might get away with it once or twice, it’s only because they are stacking charges on you. So when they do decide to bust you they have enough to put you away for up to 5 years and possibly more. so think about that.

  @LeeMcCormick1987 most of the stores overhere wait till you go past point of sale,once your passed the register they know you aint going to pay for it,but it depends on store policy and state law.

  I’m LP in the UK and love it. We average on 5 shoplifters a week and face a different challenge every time. what is the law over there then, can you arrest in store or does the suspect have to exit the building like over here?

  Heheheh, I worked at Target last Christmas. Both the LP guys that were there were some of the coolest guys you could ever meet, and have the pleasure of working with.

  i work in loss prevention also most stores we can take you down while you are still in the store and if you put up a fight your ass is gonna be on the ground your stealing dont break the law plain and simple
